Toddlers and Technology

Technology is ruining kids today. But I honestly don’t know what I would do without it. Yes, I am one of those parents that love the technology that is desensitizing our children. I have a two-year old son. He is super busy and the iPhone is the greatest gift that I could ever have so that my wife and I can eat in peace at a restaurant. Oh, I see the judgmental looks from the corner of my eyes. Older folks, or people with no kids looking at us thinking how we must be the worst parents in the world because we let technology babysit our child. So. Let my son sit at your table and let me know how you enjoy your meal. And I will keep my iPhone while he is at your table. Do I feel bad about it? Partially I do. But not so much. One day though it did hit me in a soft place. My wife bought my son a harmonica and he is actually learning how to play it. So, I asked him to play me one of his favorite songs, “Wheels on the Bus.” Then what does my son do? He looks at me and says “Alexa, play “Wheels on the Bus.” I had no words.
